Perhaps you already took the Kids Life Skills beginners Python course or learned elsewhere and know the basics such as loops and conditionals functions and modules?

If that’s the case then this course is made for you! »

Course Overview:

  • Duration: 9 lessons each lasting 3 hours
  • Format: Dynamic and engaging ensuring a fun interactive and hands-on learning experience.
  • This course is tailored for students who already possess fundamental knowledge of Python including loops conditionals functions and modules.

During the course we will:

  • Begin with a quick revision of basic principles before advancing your knowledge with an introduction to object-oriented programming.
  • Utilise the Python Arcade module leveraging classes and objects to develop computer games.
  • Download an IDE to facilitate coding starting with the creation of a text-based adventure game.
  • Gain proficiency in version control utilising GitHub to track protect and share your work.
  • Employ classes and objects to design sprites and graphics enabling the development of 2D arcade games such as platformers and Space Invaders.
  • Conclude by working on and presenting your own game project to the rest of the class!

Important:

  • This course is designed for ages 11-13 and will be conducted entirely in English.
  • Participants must feel comfortable speaking and listening in English as well as having a basic level of reading and writing skills.
  • A laptop with charger is required.
